OnePlus One Another Android Smartphone Option
One Plus One (android phablet) is manufactured by the Chinese firm OnePlus, a startup company founded by former Oppo president Pete Lau. The company revealed its first product in April 2014. One Plus One is the mid-range Android smartphone with premium specifications. The phone looks like something between Google Nexus 5 and Nokia Lumia 1520. There are some facts which makes One Plus One different from others and it can become an alternative to Android smartphones.
Design
It's design is not just tremendous but solid too. The handset weighs 5.7 ounces, thin design and rounded corners. It looks similer like other Android phones available in the market. Tech giants Apple and Samsung are providing very good quality in their devices so now OnePlus is also trying to catch up with them.
Display
Now companies are trying to provide bigger displays to customers, usually the devices are having approximately 5 inches display. If we talk about One Plus One, it has 5.5 inch display similar to the iPhone 6 Plus. OnePlus company also believes that the larger phablet design is superior and consumers also like the big display.
Storage
One plus One has enough storage like the other phones have Now a days. It comes with 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and the Adreno 330 GPU. Moreover it has 3GB of RAM, it has the ability to handle different apps available in market. This feature makes One Plus One to standout among the powerful Android devices in the market.
OnePlus One runs on Android Cyanogen operating system. Cyanogen is an open source operating system that is not a Google's Android. A new and unique experience to users on a different platform. Cyanogen is currently running on few devices but soon it will get popular with the time.
Camera
The company specifically worked on the camera technology of it's handset. In the device you will find a separate section dedicated to the 13 mega pixel rear facing camera. The camera of the device is based on Sony Exmor IMX 214, it has six lenses to address possible issues with distortion. This feature makes One Plus One a highly competitive device which can compete with high end smartphone cameras in the market.
Gesture Support
One Plus One has an important component of gesture support. The device runs on OS, configured by the company which supports the gesture control. If you will tap twice on the screen, the handset will on. If you will draw an image on the screen then the drawing app will get open. By chance if your fingers are wet then also the screen will respond like the other phones too have this kind of feature.
Security
OnePlus company claims that Cyanogen is more secured operating system than anyone else. You can send text messages with end to end encryption to other devices running on same software. Cyanogen also includes software customization, which makes some apps not access user information. Company has put security as the central feature of the device.
Buttons
You can modify buttons on your own, which are the part of operating system and on-screen. Cyanogen installation makes users to decide how to use standard capacitive key buttons, positioned under the display or virtual buttons at the bottom of the touch screen that perform the same actions. One set of those buttons can be used at a time. This feature is an example of OnePlus company of it's delivering on its mission to "never settle".
Carrier Compatibility
In US, OnePlus One works on T-Mobile and AT&T networks not on Verizon and Sprint reason being that the device runs on GSM wireless technology supported by T-Mobile and AT&T.
Pricing
This is the most prominent factor, and the most attractive also for OnePlus One. It comes in two variants: 16GB Silk White and 64GB Sandstone Black. Both the versions are very affordable as per their premium specs. 16GB version is available for $299, whereas 64GB version is available for $349. If we compare the price with iPhone 6 than it is two times costlier, depending on the version. The affordable price tag makes OnePlus One more popular and demanding in the market.
