Smartphone Gone Underwater - Steps To Fix It

We want our smartphone to be with us every time, it's not possible to enjoy any moment without it. Though world's first buoyant smartphone is going to release soon that is "COMET" but still during the summer its possible that your smartphone takes a dip in water or in your drink. Don't panic, you can save it by just following some simple steps. These tips will help you to fix the wet phone problems.

Grasp It Quickly

When your phone drop down in pool, dip in your drink, most important thing you should do is grab it instantly. If you will let your phone to stay in water for long, then chances of getting water inside will get very high. If you act quickly and pulled it out soon then you are able to save your phone.
Don't tell me that your phone falls in a well then what to do, its simple just forget it and bear the losses. 

Switched Off Your Phone

After pulling your phone from water just see whether it is on or off. If it is on then immediately shut down the device. If you will keep your phone on in wet position then chances of short circuits will increase and damage it.

If you find your wet phone screen off while grabbing it out of water, and you are not sure whether the phone is shut down or not, or its screen is blank then try to wake it by pushing power button. If the phone wake up then quickly switched off it and if its not then keep it off only.

Parched It

After shutting down your phone, clean it properly and dry it. If your phone has removable battery, microSD card, back panel or anything which can be removable then take those things out and let the air pass in it.

Don't Use Dryer

People used to do this mistake at times, they blow dry their phone. This is not correct, heat coming from dryer can destroy the internal components of your phone permanently.

As per the rumours people put their phone in oven or freeze it but unfortunately all these things don't do anything.

Rice And Silica Methods

These two methods are good to make your phone dry from inside. Fill one bowl with uncooked rice and bury your phone in it. Rice is a good option as it absorb the moisture and make your phone completely dry.

Similarly, you can opt plastic bags with silica packets. Silica act as a desiccant that sucks up the moisture and will make your smartphone completely dry.

You can choose anyone method from these but for this you have to leave your phone for 3 days so that all the moisture get absorbed. 

Turn On Your Smartphone

Test your smartphone by turning it on, if its not getting on while charging also then it will be your bad luck but if it will get on then you are very lucky.
Important - If your phone after a period of time starts malfunctioning then its the time to repair it or recycle it.

Last Option

If you have tried all the above steps then also your phone is not working the the last option remains is to clean it. Now this action may damage your phone further but can't help it. I guess this is the last option to try, may be the salt from salt water get into it.

Clean Your Phone

Clean your phone with a wet toothbrush with 90% isopropyl alcohol and softly brush the circuit board. Point to remember is that the alcohol can dissolve the glue in your phone, which can cause irreparable damage.

Phone Insurance

This thing actually saves you from facing losses. If your phone does not turn on and work then simply recycle it and buy a new smartphone for your self. Get your device insured under some accidental insurance. It will helps you if your smartphone gets underwater and doesn't turn on then you can get a new one easily.
