As we all know that Google has decided to redesign Google Glass, so now Sony has started to take orders for SmartEyeglass internet-linked eyewear

SmartEyeglass connects with Smartphones and then superimposes text, images and other information onto whatever real scene is in view.

There will be a limited edition of it, which is tailored specially for software developers. It will be available in market on March 10 in Japan, Germany, Britain and United States

Price in United States - $840 (plus applicable taxes)
Price in Europe - 670 euros (plus applicable taxes)

SmartEyeglass designed for enterprises will be accessible in France, Italy, Spain and elsewhere.

Sony will also release software development kit "to tap into the ingenuity of developers to improve upon the user experience that the SmartEyeglass provides."

SmartEyeglass have fun, hip and functional applications which will attract people to buy it for commercial release in 2016.

What is liked about it

A neat idea and a decent product which can show the information without pulling out your phone. Well working approach.

What is disliked about it

Bulky and there is no need of camera, moreover its battery life is not much satisfactory.

Google stopped sales of its internet linked eyewear Glass in January but they will bring that technology in future consumer product.

In United States the Glass was available in last year to anyone with money or who wants explore. It's test programme was later expanded to Britain.

Last month Microsoft introduced HoloLens eyewear that will hit a sweet spot between Google Glass and virtual reality headgear, engrossing users in the world of reality holograms.

Microsoft executive said the holographic capabilities built into Windows 10 operating software  - to be released late this year - would open doors for developers to augment tasks from complex surgery to motorcycle design.
