Ice Cream Sandwich will face more problem followed by KitKat 4.4. Android Lollipop has some snags but still it is at better place than older versions. iOS is on different place, experience of users with iOS 8 is quite disappointing.

Report by ZDnet says Android Lollipop has 2% crash rate as compared to 2.2% crash rate on iOS 8 devices. On the other hand iOS 7 had reported a 1.9% crash rate. Android , KitKat and Ice Cream Sandwich recorded 2.6% crash rate. The latest Lollipop version has 2% crash rate.

All this depends upon the phone in hand, RAM and storage available on the device. Apple & Google are trying to come out and fix these bugs by regularly updating activity. This report actually covers only one part that is crashes with third party apps, it will not consider the first party software snags. Devices with old hardware specs don't have the capacity for new OS upgrades and may be they cause problems, especially while playing high-end games, same apps could crash easily.
