Recently a research has been done by researchers at the University of Southern California, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and Queen's University in Canada - which shows that a phone's Central Processing Unit (CPU) is work like its brain - and ads finish that power, makes the device to work slow by draining its battery continuously.
Many apps are free in the play store and in many other platforms and these usually attract us. But these free apps actually drain's your smartphone battery faster, slow down your device, use more network data. When these free apps compared with apps without ads, the researchers found that apps with ads use an average of 16% more energy.
Free apps have many ads and these apps take up an average of 48% more CPU time, 22% more memory use and 56% CPU utilization.
Researchers team compared 21 apps from the past year and measure their effect on phone by using analysis tools loaded onto a Samsung Galaxy SII smartphone. Ads are themselves a content and its mandatory to download that, because of this apps with ads cause your smartphone to use much more data sometimes up to hundred percent or more.
Study says that on an average, these apps use around 79% more of the expensive network data. The researchers hoped app developers would take note of this study.
