Google plus is soon coming up with the more offline and private sharing features. Google hs acquired Odysee,an iOS and Android app that make users automatically back up photos and videos taken on their cameras or tablets to their him computers. Users can set up private, automatic sharing with other people an it had an API for integrating the service with other apps.
On February 23rd the app will be shut down and its team will join Google+ to continue to focus on building amazing products that people love.
On Odysee home page information is there of acquisition via note moreover notification being sent to app users.
As per the reports Odysee the app is no longer available in Apple's Store and in Google Play, and its maker Nimbuz Inc, has also been pulled.
Rumours are there that Google might launch Photos features of Google+ as a standalone service. There are others also in providing online photo services like Facebook, Instagram, Yahoo, Flickr, Dropbox an many more.
Odysee was the latest app from Nimbuz, confounded by Raghavan Menon and Shiva Javalagi, both founders have the background in networking, algorithms, caching and embedded software. Menon has previously cofounded chip designer Ingot Systems, which was acquired by Virage Logic and later on by Synopsys.
Odysee is specially fr hose people who take a lot of videos and would like the option of saving them at their full quality. This app will keep copies of photos and videos that are unlikely to be accessed online at lower quality. It had its own follower an following network that is based on the idea of adding a small group of close family and friends who would also be on the app, with the option of sharing more pictures to non-Odysee users by way of URL links rather than embeds.
Odysee was built on freemium model; free for the first year and then $5 per year later on. The founders estimated that they could keep the business sustainable if they reached 3 million users.
