Dell's Venue 10 7000 Tablet
Dell has just unveiled the Android focused Venue 10 7000, big brother to the Dell Venue 8 7000. In many ways, the new tablet is almost similar to its smaller brother, but with a few interesting additions. Coming later this month.
Like its sibling, the new device have following features and specifications:
- Powered by Intel Atom Z3580 SoC processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 8MP rear facing camera complete with Dell's RealSense 3D technology.
- 10.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560*1600
- 7000 mAh battery - company claiming only 7 hours of battery life which less than what the Venue 8 7000 offers.
- the new tablet is just 6.2 mm thin, just .1 mm thicker than the Venue 8 7000
- Aimed at enterprise customers, as the device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and Android for Work.
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- a microUSB port, as well as microSD card slot to complement the 16GB or 32GB of integrated storage space.
- An optional keyboard dock is also available similar to the Microsoft Surface keyboard. With the keyboard dock connected, the tablet can be used in various positions: laptop mode, slate mode, tent mode or presentation mode.
The tablet is being offered in 16GB or 32 GB in US and Canada only. The 16 GB slate starts at $499 without the keyboard dock, or $629 with it (keyboard dock). Pricing won't announced for the UK and Australia, but the US pricing directly converts to approx 336 euros and AU$653 for the tablet only, 425 euros and AU$823 with the keyboard dock.
The Venue 10 is probably too expensive to elicit change, especially with the keyboard, but it's at least another option.
